Basic General Literacy (BGL) Project of Zabul

There are so many amazing learners in this BGL class, but Miss Roqia stands out. Roqia knew she wanted to be a learner, but it seemed to unlikely goal.

She is from an 8 members family, and her father is being as a salesman, making just enough to feed the family, but Miss Roqia is undaunted. She believed she is having what is takes, and there were opportunities for her out there somewhere. She started learning BGL class, and today she is able to read & write.

Before writing this story, I went already to Miss Roqia’s class. I was waiting out there, once the Official time of class reached. Group of learners came into the class. First of all I met with Miss Sadia facilitator of lab-Darya Village, district: Qalat, we had an introduction, and brief conversation about her BGL class. The classroom was clean, disciplined, and supplied with the necessary instructional stuffs.

Maryam is one of the girls who, like thousands of other girls, became a victim of the war and was deprived of education. She is living in Charahi Qambar, PD 5 Kabul, she was really interested to learn and to be an educated girl in the society but due civil wars she couldn’t go to school. She walks around 15 minutes every day to come the literacy class only for her better and brightness future.

 

When she arrived to her literacy class, I met with Miss. Maryam facilitator named Mrs. Rana, and did introduction with her, thus we walked to this literacy class. The class was well organized, cleaned and equipped with class basic learning materials.

This is a success story of Miss Jalalzai, Jalalzai grew up in extreme poverty in Kakar District, Zabul. Her family had no electricity or running water, not enough food, and no access to School. She had to walk in the afternoon for around 20 minutes each day in all kinds of weather just to attend basic literacy class.

 

I met the Miss Jalalzai facilitator, Miss Nazdana, when she arrived at her literacy lesson, and we had an introduction together before walking to the literacy session. The classroom was clean, well-organized, and furnished with the necessary instructional supplies.

It represents the success story of Miss Fatima, who grew up in the utter deprivation of Zabul’s Qalat District. Her family lacked access to schools, had no running water or power, and had insufficient food. She had to walk for around 25 minutes each day in the afternoon in any sort of temperatures just to get to literacy class.

I met Miss Fatima’s facilitator, Miss Shalokhan, when she arrived at her literacy lesson, and we had an introduction together before walking to this literacy session. The classroom was clean, well-organized, and furnished with the necessary instructional supplies.

This young lady is known as Hazrat Bibi. She lives in Faqir Mohammad village, which is located in the most faraway part of Shamalzao distract of Zabul. 

Every morning at 10 a.m., she goes to literacy class with her other learners.

I reached at 9:30 a.m. to supervise the class before it began. Her class was well-organized and well-equipped with teaching resources.

I got out of their lesson a few minutes before ten o’clock and waited outside.

Hazrat Bibi and her classmates arrived a few minutes later.

They all carried their belongings into the classroom.

MRS. Sohila a mother of two children and a pregnant women, who grew up in a religious family and living in kart-e-now district 8 of Kabul. She comes every day with an excessive interest to this literacy class.

I was supposed to monitor the class and I entered the class at the same time as MRS. Sohila, I took a general look at class and around the class and talked with her for a moments heard a tragic life story but still she is hopeful for literacy class to learn and solve her problems after a while the facilitator enter to the class. Named Miss. Suraiya Sama, The class was well organized, cleaned, with high management and a very motivating class for the students, for their better learning.
